Coaches of Influence (COIN), made a donation of football and baseball sports equipment to the local high school sports programs, May 6, 2008 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

According to Hans Langkilde Jr., the group gave equipment in the past to the island and their contacts back then were Mac Ane and Manny Atuatasi. Langkilde said in an e-mail that when both of these individuals left the island, contact with COIN was lost but then re-established when Ane (living in San Francisco) hooked up with Dave Rowe, a member of the organization.

Ane referred Rowe to Clayton Mahuka, one of the local high school sports' coordinators with the DOE Athletics Department. Mahuka got Victor Langkilde involved and he sought the help of the Samoa Bowl committee with shipping costs.

AIGA Foundation became involved by packing the equipment and setting up the pick up from Rowe's place, said Langkilde Jr. He said: "COIN has a network of schools in Southern California that continue to assist American Samoa when they can."
