Tax rebates will start flowing this week
Here's the good news. Gov. Togiola Tulafono says rebate checks under the federal economic stimulus law will probably go out later this week, just in time for Mother's Day. (read more)

Some questions answered, some not for Arts Fest health care
The Tafuna Health Clinic will be open 24-hours and mobile units will be set up at Utulei to assist the LBJ Medical Center with health matters during the two weeks of the 10th Pacific Festival of Arts. However, who is responsible for paying the hospital fees for the festival delegates and whether or not medical personnel will receive overtime pay are issues not yet settled. (read more)

Student who sold marijuana on school grounds to serve five years in jail
Kruse: Court will not tolerate selling of drugs to children
The High Court sentenced last Friday 19-year-old Eliu Hari to five years in jail for selling marijuana last year on school grounds at Leone High School, where he was a student at the time. (read more)

Senators reluctant to discuss DOE bill without clear funding source
Without a solid and clear source of funding for the Administration's bill to hike public school teachers' salaries, some senators have questioned why the administration is submitting the measure. (read more)
