World’s largest Hotel group eyes Samoa

The world’s largest hotel group, Wyndham, is looking to expand into Samoa. Last week, the Wyndham Hotel Group General Manager for Acquisitions and Development, David Wray (pictured) visited.He was keen for the global Wyndham Hotel Group to expand its Pacific Islands footprint to include Samoa. Mr Wray had meetings in Apia with key tourism industry officials to update himself on the future tourism developments.In a media statement, Mr Wray says he is confident the timing is right for Wyndham through its Ramada brand, to enter the Samoan tourism market. Ramada is a hotel chain owned and operated by Wyndham Worldwide.Mr Wray says he also met with the Aggie Grey’s Hotel Group.Wyndham is keen to work and partner with the iconic Aggie Grey’s brand to develop and manage a 5 Star Resort in Samoa.They also hope to expand the tourism market from its present concentration on the NZ and Australian markets.The Wyndham Hotel Group is one of the world’s largest hotel companies with approximately 7,190 hotels and 609,600 rooms in 66 countries under 15 hotel brands.
