Rev. Elder Si’ueva Gogo passes away

Members of the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa and abroad are mourning the passing away of one of their elders.Reverend Elder Si’ueva Gogo passed away at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital last Saturday. He was 68.Rev. Elder Si’ueva served his God through the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa for more than 42 years. From 2001 to 2005, Rev. Elder Si’ueva was appointed Chairman of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa while serving at Manase village.He also served as an Elder of the Matāgaluega/Pulega Itu-o-Tane, Savai’i.Family member, Fa’ailoga Siliana Tunufa’i told the Samoa Observer they are deeply saddened by Rev. Elder Si’ueva’s passing.Fa’ailoga said Rev. Si’ueva attended the church’s annual meeting at Malua last month. But he was admitted with a serious condition at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital last Friday night.“He was fully committed to his service as a pastor and elder of the church,” she says. “He was always keen to promote harmony and peace in our family.“Reverend Si’ueva can be described as a humble person who fought to better the status and well being of our family and the work of God.”“We miss him. He was humble, a great leader and his memory will live forever.”
