Samoa Police arrest four in White Sunday death

Police have arrested four men in relation to the death of a Leulumoega man whose body was found on White Sunday morning, not far from his home. The death of Naoafioga Tuimaunei, a hard working plantation man, has left his family in shock.Details about what caused his death were not available yesterday.“I miss my husband so much, I miss our times we spent together,” said his partner, Seneuefa Edward Minto. She and her daughter Alicia Tuimaunei received an early morning call from a family member telling them he was dead. Her husband had gone to play pool at an uncle’s place, as he usually does each week, but never came home.Seneuefa said that last Saturday night was the only time she stayed home, usually following him everywhere he goes.Naoafioga and Seneuefa had been together since 2010.They have just the one child, Alicia, 3 year old.Naoafioga’s mother, Faailoga Tuimaunei, was living in New Zealand, looking after her father. That Sunday, she already had a bad feeling about her son.“I was lying in my room, looking at the picture of my son and his family and singing a gospel song and I was in tears,” she said.“After a few minutes my daughter knocked on my door and asked me if I want to iron my clothes – I said no.”“And that’s when she sat down and told me that my son Naoafioga had died.”Mrs Tuimaunei said she cried out loud and told her daughter that it’s not true.
