The American Samoa Tennis National Open Tournament along with Junior Tennis players from here and Samoa are in a hot contest this weekend.

According to the American Samoa Tennis Association (ASTA) president Billy Young, “Our open tournament is the first qualification for the 2015 Pacific Games. This will be the first trial tournament for our local Pacific Games players,” said Young.

He stated that the finals will be (today) Saturday morning at the ASTA tennis courts at Lions Park. He also said that there are two players from Samoa who are National Players competing in the open tournament.

“These should be really good games. This is our build to the 2015 Pacific Games. I invite everyone out to support all of these young players and players in the Open Tournament,” he said. The age categories for the Junior tournament are 16 & Under, 14 & Under and 12 & Under groups.
