Former Miss American Samoa, Antonina Lilomaiava, joined forces with S.S.A.B. Pago Inc. and Miss American Samoa Inc. (M.A.S.I.) to donate more than $8,000 worth of reading books, toys, educational games, puzzles, book shelves, kid’s desk and chairs to the LBJ Tropical Medical Center last week Friday.

According to S.S.A.B’s Procurement and Sales Manager, Marlene Mulipola, the initiative is that of the former Miss American Samoa.

“She wanted to donate some books and toys to the LBJ Break Room/Kids Room,” said Ms. Mulipola.

“She sought the assistance of S.S.A.B’s President and C.E.O. Fiti Leung Wai for this project as S.S.A.B. was not only her sponsor during the pageant in 2016 (through our S.S.A.B Pago Inc. Branch), but also because we are a strong advocate of Literacy in Samoa.”

“Miss. Lilomaiava promotes literacy and encourages the children to read which aligns with the banner that S.S.A.B. carries.” Assistant Director of Human Resources Department at American Samoa LBJ Tropical Medical Center Dr. Akenese Nikolao received the donation.
