"A FAUTASI SOLUTION"

Dear Editor,

I don't know why people feel so disgruntled at the fautasi committee rather than improving the problem for future races to come. Can anyone in the Territory be powerful enough to control Mother Nature? Can anyone with an IQ of a genius come up with a better way to maintain steadiness of these boats against the open sea? Positioning and steadying these boats in lanes have been the main issues in past fautasi races. Any slight movements forward sometimes cause a premature reaction among boat captains to start. But, that can never be an excuse for a captain to start early without the whistle being blown. So, can anyone with a mind of a god fix this?

Well, let's start with dates. Foremost, fautasi races should never be set on the days when Flag Day festivities are on. It should be set on the day before Flag Day officially starts. This removes the pressure from the committee to rush things to meet time or deadline constraints. For false starts, the committee should get a boat positioned further in the front so all the fautasi captains can see. If a fautasi starts rowing before the whistle, the committee can then wave a flag or a signal for false start and tell the captain(s) to turn back. As for solving the positioning debacle, I don't have a clue unless their rears are tied by ropes or something.
