Taeaoafua Meki Solomona, current Acting Governor

Director of Human Social Services, Taeaoafua Meki Solomona is Acting Governor as of Thursday, May 29, 2014. In a general memorandum issued by Lt Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga prior to departing for Samoa yesterday morning, he asked the departments and agencies to extend their full support and cooperation to Taeaoafua. Lemanu pointed out in the memorandum that in accordance with section 4.0106 he has appointed Taeaoafua as Acting Governor.

 

According to the Special Assistant to the Lt Governor, Solomona Auelua, Lemanu will be in Samoa for five days and will be returning next Tuesday. He’s accompanied by Chief of Staff Fiu Johnny Saelua and others from the governor’s office.

 

Solomona told Samoa News that Lemanu is attending Samoa’s independence day, which will start with a church service on Sunday and activities throughout the week. The Lt Governor is also attending the opening and blessing (consecration) of the Cathedral of our Lady Maria of the Immaculate Conception, in Mulivai, Apia, Solomona stated.
