House probe bares details of fiber optic deal
The parties that are pursuing the redeployment of the Pacific Rim (PacRim) East undersea fiber optic cable in order to connect American Samoa with Hawaii by the end of this year intend to pursue interconnecting an additional cable to serve neighboring Samoa. (read more)

Congress gives food stamp program temporary reprieve
Congressman Faleomavaega Eni announced on his radio program that Congress approved late yesterday a resolution that will continue the federally-funded food stamp program for American Samoa until next month.(read more)

ASDC board to set time frame to develop rest of Rainmaker hotel
The American Samoa Development Corporation (ASDC) board is scheduled to meet this month to discuss, among other things, setting a time frame on when Niu Technology (NT) is to start developing the rest of the Rainmaker Hotel, the only ASDC asset. (read more)
