"MINIMUM
WAGE"
Dear Editor,
The Fono doesn't
like it because the Congressman is going to get the people here
a pay raise. What they fail to tell the public and a delegation
sent to Washington will be told by the US Congress about the
Congressional Hearing held here in March, was the first wage
increase did not affect the ASG workers here because they already
get more than the minimum wage and the two tuna plants not only
gave the minimum wage to those that needed it, they gave an across
the board raise to those that did not need.
The first Congressional
hearing that was opened by a church minister instead of the banging
of the gavel has given the US Congress the information it needed
about American Samoa.
Thanks,
Employer
"TOURISM"
Dear Editor,
Latest cruise
ship stop here, the comments tell us some things. One said there
are too many dogs, did we already know that? A couple said the
taxi driver knew no English and could not identify the flowers
here.
Those taxi companies
that send drivers to transport tourists should have training
classes for their drivers on how to deal with tourists, and if
they can speak the language.
Embarrassed
