Private sector will not control container policy, Treasurer vows
Chamber of Commerce president calls on Togiola to intervene
ASG treasurer Gaea Pelefoti Failautusi said implementation of the new policy to centralize inspection of containers at the dock started yesterday, a day before the trial run to test out the policy occurs. (read more)

Eight firms awarded contracts to provide promotional items for arts fest
Eight local firms have been awarded contracts to provide and sell promotional items for the 10th Festival of Pacific Arts while a new Request for Proposal (RFP) went out this week seeking vendors to provide canteen services at the housings where the 2,000 delegates attending the festival will be staying. DPS defends Scientology group against public criticism
In response to criticism aimed at Scientology, members of the Dept. of Public Safety stepped up to defend the group during its South Pacific Goodwill Tour grand opening that included a graduation ceremony for 16 police officers who completed a four-week training hosted by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.
