American Samoa celebrates the 124th Flag Day
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Office of Samoan Affairs conducted a customary 'Ava ceremony on Tuesday, April 16, officially kicking off the 124th Flag Day celebration for American Samoa at the Su’igaula o le Atuvasa in Utelei.
Gov. Lemanu P.S. Mauga, expressed heartfelt thanks to special guests for accepting the invitation to celebrate the our Flag Day and in taking part in one of the cherished Samoan traditions — the 'Ava ceremony.
On Wednesday, April 17, the celebrations moved to the Veterans Memorial Stadium, which was strictly an American Samoa community celebration, with no groups from Samoa this year.
