Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A man who went inside his neighbor’s home uninvited is now in custody. Allen Tagaloa made his initial appearance in Court. He is charged with one count of trespass and one count of public peace disturbance (PPD), both misdemeanors.

During his initial appearance, the Court released Tagaloa on his own recognizance subject to several conditions, including not setting foot at his neighbor’s house nor trying to contact any of the government’s witnesses.

The government alleges that on Nov. 23rd, 2020 at 9:31p.m, a woman contacted the Tafuna Police Substation (TPS) for police assistance regarding a male who entered their house uninvited.

Several police responded to the call and met up with the woman who contacted police for assistance. The woman told police that a man who lives next door, known as Allen, entered their house through the back door while she was watching television in the living room.

The woman said while watching TV she smelled a strong odor of alcohol inside the house. She walked to the kitchen and saw Allen standing inside their kitchen with a beer can in his hand.

When she asked him what he wanted, he replied that he’s hungry and he needed food. The woman gave Allen food and instructed him to get out of her house, and then called police for assistance. The woman further told police she had known Allen for over a year, but this is the first time something like this had happened.

Tagaloa was apprehended from his home and transported to the TPS for questioning. When asked about the incident, he admitted going inside his neighbor’s house late at night looking for food.
