“OPEN LETTER TO THE FATHER OF OUR TERRITORY GOV LOLO MATALASI MOLIGA”

James 1;27- From the standpoint of Our God and Father is this, to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation and to keep oneself without spot from the world.

Psalms 147: 7-He heals the brokenhearted, he binds up their wounds.

My name is ANALEI'A MAOTA LE AUMOEUALOGO MATAINA A'AU. My parents are A'AU ITUMALO who was a HIGH CHIEF, TEACHER, and later a HONORABLE JUDGE and TOOA VAEVAEFONO TUIOTI MOAFANUA.

Judge A'au  passed away in 1993 while I was 11 years old.

My reasons of writing to you is because you are a father figure to me.

Since, my father passed away I became an orphan. While my Dad was alive and serving as a JUDGE, I learned and was exposed to aspects of the Law. Basically, THE CULTURE, LAND, AND TITLES. He was a HIGH CHIEF IN FALEASAO, MANU'A  to his Family(A'AU). Continually, where I was raised and grew up, ATUU VILLAGE, MANU'A LE LUA OR MANU'A 2ND, MAIN TRUSTEE TUFELE LI'A.

During, that time, my parents’ house was contracted to Asian business owners. While in Hawaii in 1993 at the age of 11, my Dad died and was buried at the Kaneohe Cemetery, and issues of concerns arose regarding my parents home and land, in the territory.

To protect myself and younger sister, my Mom moved us to a new place.

Now, I am grown and an adult and the sole heir to my parents land (SULI A'AU) I HAVE THE RIGHT AND POWER OF AUTHORITY to gain what these people have stolen from our family.

God guided me to seek help from the Office of the Samoan Affairs.  But unfortunately, a delay had taken months to process my case. I turned to your office for help. At first I was told by your secretary that it will be okay but then later, was told the the government cannot resolve personal issues.

With all the documents I have on hand from My Mom’s Lawyer — POWER OF ATTORNEY AND AUTHORITY — I WAS ABLE TO REGISTER THE HOUSE UNDER MY NAME, and under advice tried to get the plot plan and advertise it in the Samoa News, as protocols dictate.

But Malaesaili, the Manu’a Representative at the time, refused to sign my paperwork, citing that I have no knowledge of Atuu. I approached Aflac Lutu, who was my parents lawyer at the time, who introduced me to Commissioner Le’i Thompson.

I am grateful to him and the DPS, the Court Marshall, Mr. Alailima, the Speaker of the House, for their support throughout my journey.

Last year, I returned to Hawaii to visit my mother who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, with the hopes of returning to American Samoa at the beginning of this year (2020).

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we are stuck and unable to continue our normal lives. In the Tagata Tutu Faatasi Alliance, I have met people whose hopes are crushed and are heartbroken.

Witnessing brave and compassionate leaders Of Samoa, Tuvalu and Fiji doing their job is a sight to behold.

We can only pray and hope that the same feelings of love for our people will touch your heart, Governor Lolo.

WE PLEAD AND ACKNOWLEDGE GOD TO GUIDE AND GIVE YOU STRENGTH AND GOOD HEALTH, AND PROSPERITY.

PLEASE, PLEASE, WE NEED YOU, WE SUPPORT YOU, TO LOVE ALL OF US YOUR PEOPLE.

SINCERELY.

ANALEI'A MAOTA LE AUMOEUALOGO MATAIINA A'AU.
