Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — American Samoa’s own Nathan Ikon Crumpton competed yesterday at the Yanqing Sliding Center, during the first day of Skeleton Bob- sled competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics

Crumpton was listed to compete in HEAT 1. at 2:30 pm. Samoa News will post his standings as they come available.

Facts attached to his name for the Olympics 2022 competition:

• At World Championships, 2 top-20 finishes, 8th (2016) and 18th (2020). World Cup best of 5th (2016) and 7th (2016).

• Ran 100m at Tokyo 2020 OG for ASA. Switched from USA to ASA.

• First ASA athlete to win gold in a winter sport (2019 North America’s Cup in Park City, UT).

Crumpton grew up in 6 countries on 4 continents and was born in Nairobi. Writing in a general message to ‘friends in the Pacific’ — via email — Crumpton noted that if “you’d like to follow the journey in more detail, you can subscribe to my Patreon page.
