ASHSAA Top-4 picture emerges

ASHSAA girls’ soccer competition heads into its final week of the season with the top four picture taking shape ahead of the playoffs set for March 4.

 

Samoana currently leads with a 7-0 record, followed by Fa’asao-Marist at 4-1-1, Kanana Fou in third at 3-1-1 and Faga’itua at 3-0-1.

 

In 5th place are the Tafuna Warriors (3-0-4), followed by South Pacific Academy (2-0-4) and finally the Wildcats of Nu’uuli Voc-Tech (1-0-5).

 

Samoana is the defending title-holder of the division.

 

The playoffs will feature the top seed taking on No. 4 while No. 2 plays against No. 3.  The winners advance to the March 4 championship game at Pago Park Soccer Stadium.

 

Samoana and Faga’itua had been the top teams in the competition before the Vikings went on a two-game slide, both losses coming against Fa’asao-Marist and Samoana, respectively.

 

They are tied with Tafuna in points but have a goals differential edge over the Warriors.

 

Tomorrow SPA takes on Samoana while the Warriors face off against the Fa’asao-Marist Cougars.

 

On Wednesday, the Kanana Fou Stallions play against the Faga’itua Vikings while the Dolphins play against the Warriors.

 

On Thursday, the Crusaders take on Samoana while the Vikings go against the Wildcats.
