A new business has opened up in the far eastern village of Amouli where white sandy beaches and the swaying of coconut tree leaves from the cool ocean breeze are an everyday sight.

On Saturday, August 30, a small ceremony was held to officially open the Amouli Beach Fales — a family owned and operated business that is the brainchild of local US Army recruiter SSG Lauie Laban-Ilalio, her husband Savelio Ilalio, and sister-in-law Levestine Nomani.

For now, SSG Laban-Ilalio explained, they have available for rent three fales — in different sizes — for either daytime activities or overnight stays.

Each fale, depending on size, is charged at a different rate. Electricity is available along with water, shower and restroom facilities. Wi-fi services will soon be offered.

Saturday’s grand opening ceremony included a small prayer service and blessing offered by Rev. Father Faitau Lemautu of the Catholic Parish in Alao.

Amouli Beach Fales, with its peaceful location and unspoiled beauty is the perfect place for family barbecues, birthday parties, church or office retreats, prayer meetings, or informal get-togethers.

The surroundings are very clean, with beautiful white sand and clear blue ocean water that truly make it a dream come true for snorkelers and beach goers.

The facilities are now open for business and the owners are planning family-oriented events (open to the public) to be held there for the remainder of the year.
