Hope House Golf Tourney scheduled for tomorrow

Hope House will hold tomorrow their annual golf tournament, which is the only major fund raising event for the facility — a special place, as it is the only one in the territory caring for elders and children with severe disabilities.

Bishop of the Diocese of Samoa Pago Pago, the Most Rev. Peter Brown, in a letter to the business community sought public supports for the work that Sister Faustina Stowers & Staff are providing for the residents and patients at Hope House.

“These are elderly patients, terminally ill and children with severe disabilities whose daily care has been entrusted to God’s servants and for whom you have an opportunity to help,” he wrote and noted that through the endless support of the Diocese Parish Priests, the Board of Hope House is again organizing a fundraising golf tournament to help with the daily operations of the facility.

As with previous fundraisers, all donations and proceeds are given directly to fund the operations of Hope House, according to the Hope House board.

Registration for the tournament begins at 6:30a. m. at the Iliili Golf Course with tee-off time to begin an hour later with a shotgun start.  Entrance fee is $250 for a three member team, while its $50 for individuals. As usual there will be fabulous prizes for high scores on the golf course, along with raffle drawings.  Breakfast, lunch and drinks will be provided.

The Hope House Fundraising Golf Tournament’s major sponsor is Vailima, distributed exclusively by G.H.C. Reid & Co., Ltd. ‘Oloa O Leala’ — Your family of fine beverages.  (See advertisement in today’s Samoa News for contact numbers, as well as for more information on the tourney.)
