Islanders Get-Together at Bagram, Afghanistan

BAGRAM AIRFIELD - Afghanistan —Military service members and civilians from Samoa and other Pacific Islands deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan pose for a group photo after a dinner organized by Army Staff Sgt. Tasha Samuelu and Air Force 1st LT. Mercy Te'o.The event gave everyone a chance to meet, have some fun, and foster fellowship in this combat area. The event was a great success with music and awesome food cooked by Justin Lei-Sam, Solomona Tiumalu, and Fo'ilefutu.A special thanks also to The Sogaimiti and Malu organization of Hawaii and its president Sala Rudi Thomsen and his wife Fiafia, secretary, SSG Paulo Momosea and treasurer, Terry Thomson and family who plan to send taro, palusami, and other island food for the next get-together on Thanksgiving.
