Leone grad earns battlefield promotion

SGT Justin Godinet, son of Muliagatele and Mata Godinet of the village of Leone, was selected as the number one E-5 candidate in Task Force Medical-Afghanistan for Battle Field Promotion to the rank of Staff Sergeant on July 1, 2013. He’s a Leone High School graduate with the class of 2006.

 

Serving with the 432nd Blood Support Detachment, he was the Non Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of all blood products entering Afghanistan in RC-North, RC-East, and RC-Capital, managing over 50, 000 units.

 

In addition, he’s trained and certified over 100 military personnel in the Modern Army Combatives Program-Level 1, volunteered over 100 hours teaching English to the local youth, and bolstered support for the United Through Reading Program administered through the Uniformed Services Organization (USO).

 

SSG Godinet was also awarded the Combat Action Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal, for his actions during Operation Enduring Freedom. He is now home safe with his wife and two sons at Fort Bragg, NC.
