Washington D.C. — On Thursday Congresswoman Uifaatali Amata Radewagen received an original Siapo mamanu that was made especially for her by local artists Su'a Uilisone Wilson FItiao and Reggie Meredith Fitiao.

They had showcased the siapo in an art exhibition at the Pearce Green Gallery in New York City last October.

In an interesting side-note, American Samoa’s Olympian Nathan Crumpton in his skeleton sled competition is wearing siapo mamanu patterns designed by our very own Tufuga ta Tatau Su'a Uilisone Wilson Fitiao.
