The Little League Baseball Summer Program continues with great action

The American Samoa Boys and Girls Little League Baseball Summer Program in the Territory opened last Saturday at the Tony Solaita Baseball field with exciting play — to the satisfaction of the crowd that filled the stands. The results of the games on opening day were reported by Samoa News in yesterday’s sports edition.

 

Play resumed this past Monday throughout the day with more exciting action. In the Coach Pitch Division, where there is no score kept, it was the Central Cubs versus the Nu’uuli Meto Giants and Fatu-O-Aiga Angels versus the Leone Angels.

 

The Minor League Division had one game that saw the Central Cubs defeat the Nu’uuli Meto Giants by a score of 6-4.

 

In the Major League Division games, the Fatu-O-Angels got by the Leone A’s for a victory of 8-7. The Nu’uuli Meto Giants team I defeated the Central Cubs by a score of 10-1.

 

The All-Girls team in the Major League Division Central Cubs Girls, downed the Nu’uuli Giants team II, 8-7.

 

The next games are scheduled are for this coming Saturday at the Tony Solaita Baseball Field with a scheduled starting time of 8:00 a.m. for the first game with others to follow throughout the day.

 

The president of the American Samoa Baseball Association as well as the American Samoa Little League, Victor Langkilde would like to invite the public out to all of the games in support of little league baseball here in the territory and its athletes.

 

This year’s American Samoa Boys and Girls Little League Baseball Summer program has a total of 300 ball players and is in partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation with sponsorship from local businesses.
