Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Armed with the belief that “E sui Faiga, Ae Tumau Faavae!” — 212 Warrior-students became graduates of Tafuna High School last week, Wednesday, June 10, 2026 during their 60th Commencement Ceremony held at Kanana Fou Gymnasium.

The ceremony’s Master of Ceremonies, THS Principal Tutuila Nauer Togilau welcomed special guests to the Commencement, which included Gov. Pulaalii Nikolao Pula, US Congresswoman Uifaatali Aumua Amata, ASG Scholarship Board representative Dr. Rosevonne Pato, ASDOE director Maefau Dr. Mary Lauagaia Taufete’e.

Invocation delivered by Rev. Malietulua Leitualasa- CCCAS Nu’uuli opened with a quote from the bible, acknowledging the Israelites deliverance from the Egyptians with Moses’ words of joy — “The Lord is a Warrior. The Lord is His Name.” And just as God was acknowledged for his deliverance, we too, the faifeau said, are at the beginning of this celebration honoring the greatest Warrior ever for delivering you (graduates) to your very special day —  “This is the Day that was made by God.”

Keynote Speaker Dr. Siniva Tuileto‘a‑Mann, a 2007 THS graduate and former teacher, who currently serves as ASTCA Director of Sales and Retail led the graduation class in an interactive speech that focused on the Class of 2026’s theme: “E sui Faiga, Ae Tumau Faavae!” — “Methods may change, but principles remain”. The world you are entering, is “fast” she stated, with technology there to assist you — but it cannot give you judgement, it cannot think for you, it cannot define you. She encouraged the graduates to ask — “Does this reflect my values?”  And, to remember, Anything is possible because the foundation you’ve already been taught, your principles, will steady you. “Your culture, your faith, your family, your values” — they are rooted in you and are the keys to what you will become.

Governor Pulaalii, in his special remarks, offered words of encouragement also focused around their theme, “place your trust in the Lord!” He concluded by pointing out that all the graduates “in the eyes of God” are special. “He knows your name.”

ASDOE director Maefau Dr. Mary Lauagaia Taufete’e formally accepted the 212 graduates, after asking them to not forget their parents, who have been ‘knock, knock, knocking on Heavens doors’ for you.
