Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The American Samoa Telecommunications Authority (ASTCA) ASTCA issued a press release on earlier Saturday saying that the Manu’a islands are experiencing a full service outage affecting Landline, Broadband, TV and LTE Mobile services.

Efforts to determine the cause of the problem were being hampered by inclement weather conditions and rough seas between Tutuila and Manu’a, preventing ASTCA from sending a rapid-deployment Engineering Teams and emergency equipment to restore services.

The ASTCA press release said the semi-autonomous agency has been in communication via Satellite phones with their team representatives in Manu’a as well as doing signal processing in Tutuila and Anu’u in efforts to remotely identify the issue. “ASTCA will be sending engineering response teams and equipment on the first available trip, scheduled, charter, or otherwise.,” when weather permits.

“At the moment we are unable to provide an estimate or details of the solution. ASTCA will continue to provide updates to the Public and Essential Service providers. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this time.”
