According to the court affidavit, on Dec. 26th, at approximately 10:53 p.m., FPS received a call from an individual who reported that Xavier Wright (suspect) allegedly hit two men with a glass bottle in the back of the Tedi Building in Fagatogo.
The police officers proceeded to the area and upon arrival were unable to locate the suspect.
The two victims walked into FPS on the same date and both were observed with injuries. The officers contacted the EMS immediately for assistance in treating the victims.
Victim #1 was interviewed and he stated that he was hanging out with his friends behind the Tedi building — in the area facing the seaside, when a drunk, shirtless Samoan male wearing a blue ie lavalava approached them and asked if they wanted to fight him. The suspect was also yelling profanities at him and his friends.
The victim explained that he and his friends got up and walked away but the suspect kept following them while yelling and swearing aggressively at them.
The suspect then used a glass bottle to hit him on the right side of his face which led him to fall on the ground and the suspect punched and kicked him several times. The victim stated that other witnesses that were present at the time of the incident advised him and the other victim to head to the FPS to file a complaint regarding what had happened.
Victim #2 stated that the suspect hit him with the bottle which injured the corner of his right eye and led to him falling on the ground and a scratch on his left knee.
The EMS arrived later and treated the victims and briefed the officers on the victims’ injuries. Victim #1 had a cut on the left side of his face and left forearm while victim #2 had a tear laceration on the corner of his eye, and a scratch on his knee when he fell on the ground.
The police unit patrolled the scene again but efforts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful.
