American Samoa Bar Association announces 2026-27 Legal Education Scholarship

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The American Samoa Bar Association is pleased to announce the opportunity to apply for 2026-2027 ASBA Legal Education Scholarship. If you graduated from an American Samoa high school or have personal ties to American Samoa, you may be eligible to receive a scholarship from the American Samoa Bar Association.

The ASBA Legal Education Scholarship is for those who are currently enrolled as a law student in good standing at a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). 

Scholarship application materials must be received no later than 4 p.m. (AS Time) on September 25, 2026.

To apply for the ASBA Legal Education Scholarship, please submit a resume and cover letter that includes the following information:

1. The name of your high school and year of graduation. (If you did not graduate from an American Samoa high school, please describe your personal ties to American Samoa.)

2. The names of the colleges and universities that you attended, degrees attained, major courses of study, graduation date, honors, and grade point average at graduation. Please attach your college/ university transcripts.

3. The name of the law school that you are presently enrolled in. If you are entering your first year of study, please provide written evidence of enrollment. If you are a current/ returning student, please provide your year of study, honors, and current grade point average. Please also attach a copy of your most recent law school transcripts if you are a current/ returning law student.

4. Description of your academic background, work experience, and extra-curricular activities.

5. A brief description of your law-related goals and plans for the future.

Please submit scholarship application materials to the ASBA Executive Committee via email to bernadine@meredithsunia.com no later than 4 p.m. AS time on September 25, 2026. Please include the name of the scholarship and your name in the subject line.
