SEAPORT BRAND SHRIMP
FOOD SAFETY RECALL

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Sea Port Products Corp of Kirkland, WA is voluntarily recalling a limited amount of Sea Port brand bagged Frozen Raw Easy Peel White Shrimp Jumbo size 16/20 count/Ib because they may have been prepared, packed, or held under unsanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with Cesium-137 (Cs-137).

The affected shrimp were distributed in very small volumes to small retailers in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Montana, Oregon, Washington State, and American Samoa between July 10, 2025 and September 22, 2025.

Consumers who have purchased affected shrimp should not consume the product and should dispose of or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

FETOIAI LAUOFO NAMED TO DEAN'S LIST

Fetoiai Lauofo of Pago Pago was named to the Dean's List for the summer 2025 term at University of Maryland Global Campus. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

University of Maryland Global Campus was founded more than 75 years ago specifically to serve the higher education needs of working adults and military service members.

DOC TO LAUNCH WORKSHOPS FOR HOMEOWNERS ASSISTANCE FUND

The American Samoa Department of Commerce is preparing to launch workshops in the month of November for the Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF).

If you previously completed a survey for HAF, we kindly ask that you complete this UPDATED version. This ensures we have the most current contact information for you. The total survey should take less than 5 minutes.

This HAF survey is not your application and does not guarantee approval. It is only to collect your contact information so we can notify you of which upcoming workshop is closest to you.

Who qualifies to apply?

1. The applicant must be a homeowner in American Samoa (documentation to prove homeownership will be required).

2. The property must be the homeowner’s primary residence.

3. The homeowner must have experienced financial hardship after January 21, 2020.

4. The homeowner’s TOTAL household income must not exceed the FY 2025 Area Median Income for American Samoa.

The Program will use HAF funding ONLY for the following types of qualified expenses:

1. Provide mortgage payments assistance.

2. Provide payment assistance for homeowner’s utilities, including electric, water, and internet service.

3. Provide payment for homeowner’s insurance (if included in mortgage).
