ASCC seeking instructor for nursing department
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The American Samoa Community College is advertising a nursing instructor position. According to ASCC, the instructor will report directly to the Academic Chairperson of the Nursing Department.
The department is committed to the offering of Certificates and Associate of Science degree with instructional programs and courses based on national standards.
“The programs are designed to prepare students for entry-level employment and to upgrade and improve employee’s vocational and technical skills and the job duties and responsibilities is to collect and prepare and present instructional materials for all assigned subject to be taught in classes.
Among other obligations the instructor must develop, implement, and assess Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) for each course taught.
“Participate in the different levels of student learning outcome review, program review, and student assessment. “Work as a team with other instructors in developing departmental mission programs, and courses, and assist in the implementation of departmental projects, under the Director’s supervision. “Work with Advisory Council to align courses with health standards and to promote, and recruit students for the program.”
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing/Registered Nurse, in lieu of BA degree in Nursing, must have an Associate’s degree in Nursing with seven years of working experience in Nursing.
“Five years of professional experience in the acute care setting. “Two or more years of teaching beginning college level nursing courses.
“Demonstrate abilities and proficiency in performing nursing skills in the care of patients using the lates technology equipment, standards, theorems, and practices. “Ability to teach and convey content of subject courses to students of various ages.
Other Requirements, Current and active RN license • Current BLS or ACLS certification.
