ASG hosts 2023 Pacific Games team
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Monday morning, Dec. 11, the American Samoa South Pacific Games Team (ASSA) attended the morning devotional at the Governor's Office, where Gov. Lemanu P.S. Mauga extended his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the team. The recognition was in appreciation of their outstanding performance and representation of American Samoa at the recently concluded South Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.
The governor delivered commendations to the ASSA team, recognizing their commitment and hard work. He emphasized the pivotal role they played in elevating the profile of American Samoa across the Pacific region.
"You have not only represented our beautiful islands in the South Pacific Games; you have also served as ambassadors of our culture, resilience, and unity. Your achievements transcend the field; you have made American Samoa proud," Lemanu said.
Members of the ASSA team took the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Governor's staff and personally express gratitude to the people of American Samoa for their support and prayers.
Gov. Lemanu also presented the team with gifts and concluded the event by extending his best wishes to the American Samoa South Pacific Games Team for their future endeavors, encouraging them to perpetuate their pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.
Samoa News points out that next on the international scene for sports is the Summer Olympic Games that are set to be hosted by Paris, France in 2024, from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, Aug. 11.
