Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Teachers with Catholic schools in American Samoa attending Teachers’ Orientation last week in preparation for the start of the 2021-2022 school year for the Catholic school system, overseen by the Office of Catholic Education.

The Office of Catholic Education, under His Excellency Most Reverend Bishop Peter Brown with Director Jeanette Alvarez, spearheaded the annual orientation. All of the Catholic school teachers and administrators of Catholic schools gathered at the FMHS Hall for their four-day orientation with the theme: Dreams of Today are the Realities of Tomorrow.

The Orientation was held to help teachers with new information on behavioral and social issues for young teens, learning strategies to become effective teachers, and how to strengthen parental connections as they prepare for the new academic year for Catholic Schools.

The orientation week consisted of different presentations coming from various guests over the 4-day period, which included a Fun Day. Fa’asao Marist High School administration, teachers, and staff hosted the orientation days, while all of the Catholic schools sponsored breakfast and lunch for the different days.
