Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa (NMSAS) has announced the launch of its new and improved website: americansamoa.noaa.gov.

The new website features beautiful photos and videos of American Samoa’s natural resources, and the Sanctuary’s underwater treasures. In keeping up with the increased use of technology in the territory, NMSAS recognizes that it’s essential to share up-to-date information with its local and global communities.

NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries deputy director, Dr. Rebecca Holyoke officially announced the reveal of the new NMSAS website during the Sanctuary Advisory Council meeting on Thursday, August 22nd.

“Now with high-speed internet providers and 4G LTE capabilities, this is just one of the many ways that we are being responsive to the public’s needs, to share our resources, objectives, and goals,” said Dr. Rebecca Holyoke about the new website.

Along with ways to get involved, and information about NMSAS’ science and education programs, the new website also features interactive multimedia, and a collection of video stories that highlight some of American Samoa’s marine resources and ocean stewards.
