Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On behalf of lawmakers, residents and landowners in the Tualauta county, Faipule Larry Sanitoa has expressed appreciation to Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga for the Administration’s efforts to provide infrastructure improvements to the most populous county in the territory.

Sanitoa had written to the governor about pending Taualuta projects and in response Lemanu invited the lawmaker to come along during last week’s ASG visitation day, where government projects were inspected, including those in Tualauta.

Earlier this week, Sanitoa wrote a letter thanking the governor and his team of “professionals for inviting me to assist you on your project site visits in the Tualauta district” on May 13.

“It was indeed very enlightening and heartwarming, to hear and see firsthand your support and commitment to finally address many of the deplorable roads, and broken drainage systems, which have caused financial hardship to so many of our residents and motorists throughout Tualatua district,” he wrote in his May 23 letter.

“After sharing the great news with our district leaders, landowners and residents, they all have expressed their gratitude, appreciation and utmost support for you, Lt. Governor Talauega and your administration for your strong leadership, commitment and foresight in building a solid infrastructure as part of your economic development plan,” he said.

While much work still needs to be done — especially with the Fagaima Road and Drainage project, the Tualauta Mitigation Project, and the Cost-U-Less road drainage project — “I am very confident, that in the coming months, the details and the plans for these very critical and urgent projects for the largest and most populated district will soon be realized,” Sanitoa pointed out.

In closing, Sanitoa acknowledged the diligence and hard work of Public Works director Faleosina Voigt and her engineering team, plus all the different departments and agencies who are helping provide funding for these projects.

Sanitoa said he and Tualauta Faipule Sam Meleisea are available for further assistance with several pending and ongoing district projects.
