Pago Pago. AMERICAN SAMOA — On Monday Congresswoman Aumua Amata recognized the National Day of the Deployed (26 October), and released the following statement:

“This day honors those serving in our military that have deployed or are deployed all over the world. Much of our military is deployed internationally in a global strategy of preserving peace and protecting freedom. Wherever they serve, everyone in our all-volunteer Armed Forces has shown the willingness to be deployed forward as needed when the country calls.

“This day specially acknowledges the sacrifices they make in going far from family, and also the sacrifices of our military families at home who miss their loved one at holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries. We appreciate you all, your service is important, and you’re in our prayers and our thoughts.”
