DBAS board chair resigns, citing business demands

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Ms. Olivia C. Reid, has resigned from the Board of Directors of the Territorial Bank of American Samoa, a press release from the govt owned institution revealed over the weekend.

The resignation from the board and her position as chairwoman is effective immediately. She cited many demands by the Reid Family businesses, especially due to the loss of its Peter E. Reid Stevedoring General Manager, Mark Foster, who passed away unexpectedly recently.

Ms. Reid stated in her letter of resignation: “I was sincerely honored to have been appointed by former Governor Lolo and further honored by Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga and Lt. Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale who let me continue the privilege of serving”. She served as a board member and the Chairwoman for over two years.

President & CEO, David Buehler, said Ms. Reid provided invaluable insight and direction for the bank. She will be missed, and the bank wishes Ms. Reid every success for the future.
