Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Department of Human Resources is celebrating the long service of American Samoa Government employees.

This was confirmed in a statement released by the DHR in response to Samoa News questions.

According to DHR, the government is celebrating 115 public servants with long years of service to the government.

“There are ASG employees who've reached 20, 30, 40, & 60 years of service that were invited” to attend the service.

“This week long event is dedicated to our Years-of-Service employees, to highlight the importance of recognizing their hard work and dedication to our government and serving the people of American Samoa throughout the years.

“There are about 115 of the Years-of-Service Employees, with only one who have reached 60 years of service, Mrs. Tinousi Jennings, from the Department of Health.”

“This event has been made possible with the assistance and partnership with other ASG Departments and we appreciate all their support.”

Acting Director of Health, Vesi Talalelei Fautanu told Samoa News that Tinousi, is Assistant Director of Nursing, assisting Nursing Director Margret Sesepasara.

The recognition of Toniusi’s service is well deserved.

“Sixty years is a very long time to be committed to something, and it takes passion to do the work you do, like Tinousi she is a pillar in the DOH.

“She’s in her 80s but she’s very active and we are blessed to have her in office.

“Serving the public involves a unique sense of civic duty. It takes a lot to remain in one department all of these years.”

“She will be recognized on Thursday again by the DHR in a reception to be held at the Methodist complex in Tafuna,"
