Fagaitua & Leone High Schools' JROTC’s accredited for next three years

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Two high schools have “passed and performed exceptionally well” their joint program accreditation for JROTC.

In a statement released by the JROTC, says Faga'itua High School (FHS) and Leone High School (LHS) are accredited for the next three years.

“FHS scored, 95.18 which is 95% of the JPA earns them an Honor Unit with Distinction (HUD), which is the highest unit award in JROTC while LHS scored 94.7.

Other high school's certifications will be conducted next month, starting with Manu’a HS on the March 9, Samoana HS on March 15, and Tafuna HS on March 17, 2023.

Since 2005, the Army JROTC program has been accredited by a national accrediting agency known as AdvancED.

“The standard is to develop and maintain a comprehensive evaluation program emphasizing continuous improvement in teaching and learning. 

“The Instructor portfolio is designed to show evidence of effective teaching and learning, assessment, professional development, collaborative activities, and continuous improvement efforts. 

“Cadets are required to create and maintain their own organized portfolio collection of work based on accomplishments, personality, goals, and aspirations. Their portfolios must show evidence of problem-solving, decision making, critical thinking and leadership. Goal- provide insight and information on the Cadet’s personal achievements and growth over time.”
