Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a statement Wednesday to Samoa News, the Fagatogo Village Council announced that in its continued beautification effort, it “has partnered with local businesses in a much-needed public area facelift.”

A list of the businesses is forthcoming, but the Village Council, expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the local businesses for their support in Fagatogo’s effort to beautify the town area.

“When you visit the town area you will notice the freshly painted public areas, and we ask to please don’t litter and let’s keep these areas clean,” according to the Fagatogo Village Council, which also thanked the public for respecting their evening curfew (evening prayers: first bell 6pm, 2nd bell 6:10pm, and ends 6:20pm). The nighttime curfew starts at 9pm and ends at 10pm.

“We urge the village and the public to support these efforts to keep order in the village,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Village Council representatives — Taesali Matagi, Tualima Fuimaono and Leoleo Suafa’i — have been seen in the mornings making sure village school children are picked up in a safe area and dropped off in a safe area, because traffic has been congested in the town due to ongoing construction.

Fagatogo Village would also like to thank the public for supporting its initiative in providing a clean and safe town area for all to enjoy.
