Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Governor’s Office has postponed the scheduled 'forum' for ASG agency presentations until Lt. Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga — who traveled last Thursday night to Honolulu — returns to the territory.

As part of a “new approach” at the start of 2019, Gov. Lolo Matalasi Moliga told his cabinet members last week about the “forums”, whereby ASG agencies will provide a presentation covering issues such as the status of the agency from the previous year, as well as accomplishments and plans going forward this year. The forums are open to the public.

The first forum was scheduled for Tuesday this week with two agencies, but was canceled.

Responding to Samoa News questions, the governor’s executive assistant, Iulogologo Joseph Pereira explained that this “initiative is to be spearheaded” by Lemanu, who was supposed to have returned to the territory Sunday night.

“These presentations are pushed back until the Lieutenant Governor returns,” said Iulogologo.

The Governor’s Office will have to reschedule the forums upon Lemanu’s return and agencies will be informed of the change of dates. There is no word as to why the Lt. Governor's return to American Samoa is delayed.
