Gov appoints two new cabinet members — Property Mgmt & Arts Council

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In separate memorandums to cabinet members, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Palepoi Sialega Mauga made official two new cabinet members.

Lemanu appointed Poleen Asalele as director of the ASG Office of Property Management effective Jan. 20, saying that Asalele shall exercise the authority to discharge the duties and general responsibilities as the agency’s director.

The governor also appointed Male F. Tiumalu as executive director of the American Samoa Council on Arts, Culture and the Humanities — or Arts Council- effective Jan. 19th.

Neither appointment is subject to Fono confirmation.

In a third memorandum to cabinet members, the governor added one more member to the ASG COVID-19 Task Force. The new appointment, made Jan. 19th, is Lydia Faleafine-Nomura, the local field representative for the US Interior Department. She served in the previous task force under the Lolo Administration.
