Governor establishes drug testing locations for ASG employees
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a Jan. 19 memorandum, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga established testing locations for employees’ drug testing.
The governor explained that testing for pre-employment and random employee drug testing will be at the Health Department. Off-island applicants “may be tested in any available location” approved by ASG.
“Occurrence testing may be conducted anywhere authorized by the Department of Human Resources,” which will continue to be responsible in managing the drug testing program including scheduling drug and alcohol screens and for selection of employees for random screening.
The governor directed DHR to update its Drug and Alcohol Policy to conform to the provisions of this memo and that DoH shall use the ASG Consent Forms for all Drug and Alcohol testing of employees.
