Gov's Office releases complete text of 2022 Atoa o Samoa MOU
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — “American Samoa has been very fortunate with the hospitality shown by the Independent State of Samoa. You have shared your wisdom with us, renewed our partnership in many of our efforts in our fight against climate change, preserving our culture and language, and by building up our workforce by allowing training through the school of medicine, maritime, and technical institute, ” Gov. Lemanu P.S. Mauga said at the closing of the Atoa o Samoa executive meeting last week in Samoa, where the second session in this year’s gathering took place.
In a press release issued late Thursday, the Governor’s Office briefed the public on the highlights of the two-day event and released the MOU. (Click on attachment below to download the entire document.)
“There’s much to be done, but with the signing of the MOU, and the provision of our leaders, our goals will be met, ” the governor is quoting as saying.
Highlights of the ceremonial activities included the Dinner Reception of the two Samoas that was held at the National University of Samoa on Thursday evening. In between meeting days, Lemanu and the American Samoa delegation were visited by several prestigious members of the Samoan government and community including, Head of State Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aleto’a Sualauvi II, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, Methodist Church of Samoa President Rev. Faulalo Leti Paaga, Tooa and Malietoa, Manunu EFKS Rev. Elder Roma Enosa, Consulate General Fata Brian, CEO and Silva Company and family.

Although from different political status, we continue to share the common goal to see the Samoa people move forward in all aspects.
