Groundbreaking event for ASG Office in Moata’a, Samoa
Apia, SAMOA — American Samoa Government leaders, headed by Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga, and Samoa, led by Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa, turn the soil for the construction of an ASG office in Moata’a, Samoa on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023 in Samoa.
The parcel of land, located near the luxurious Taumeasina Hotel, is part of a Land Swap Agreement with Samoa in an effort to deepen relations with the two Samoa.

Senate President Tuaolo Manaia Fruean and House Speaker Savali Talavou Ale joined the Governor at the ground breaking ceremony that was well attending by directors and ministers of both governments. The ceremony is part of activities for the Atoa o Samoa Talks that officially opens in Samoa today.
Gov. Lemanu in a press release over the weekend has spoken of the two events — the Talks and the Groundbreaking — as pivotal history making moments that spotlight the growing relationship between the two Samoas.
