Hawaiian Air helps register travelers with Hawaii Safe Travels
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Hawaiian Airlines’ local office will open Sunday, Sept. 26th from 9:30a.m to 5p.m. to provide assistant to travelers/passengers for the Sept. 27th flight from Pago Pago to Honolulu with the Hawaii Safe Travelers program registration process, according to an airline flight advisory.
“We recognize this to be a challenge for our traveling public and we are here to assist. It also presents a problem for our Check-In process as there are many more who need this assistance, which further delays processing all of our Guests from the ticket counter to the gate area,” said the local Hawaiian office in an email to local authorities and the news media.
“We will have a team of Agents assisting on the day of departure as well but we request all travelers, to pre-register prior to checking in on the day of departure and have a QR code readily available before standing in line,” the airline said. “Having all these prerequisites completed will expedite the check-in process and have all travelers on their way quicker, taking advantage of this outreach by our Team will ease the burden on the day of departure.”
According to the flight advisory, all confirmed passengers for the Sept. 27th flight are required to register and meet all entry requirements for Hawaii.
In a separate advisory issued Wednesday night for passengers, the airline announced that the Health Department’s Tafuna Health Clinic will be assisting travelers on Sunday, Sept. 26th from 9a.m. to 12p.m. for the Sept. 27th flight.
Testing is required prior to departing for Hawaii, for “unvaccinated” and “partially vaccinated” travelers and children under the age of 12. A negative test is required for entry.
There are no changes to the flight schedule on the day of departure. Flight arrives from Honolulu at 9:15p.m. and departure time is 11:15p.m. Early check-in starts at 2p.m. while the security check point is open from 8:30p.m. to 10p.m. Closing time for the security checkpoint is strictly enforced.
