Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Hawaiian Airlines is preparing for the busy summer travel demand between Pago Pago and Honolulu by increasing flights to three weekly, from May 22 through Sept. 4, as local residents head to the U.S for vacation and holidays, while Samoans and others living in the U.S travel to the territory — also for vacations and to visit family.

Local students heading to colleges and universities in the U.S will also keep summer travel busy.

The flight will operate on Wednesdays and arrives in Pago Pago at night — like the current twice-a-week service. The airline will also add additional daily flights between Honolulu and Los Angeles and Honolulu and Las Vegas.

Hawaiian confirmed that reservations and booking are open for the third weekly flights.

"Travelers will enjoy more options and convenient schedules as they plan their summer travel to and from the islands," said Brent Overbeek, senior vice president and chief revenue officer at Hawaiian Airlines. "This is also the first year we will offer a fourth daily HNL-LAX flight, which reflects the strong demand for our brand in Southern California.”

The 2024 summer schedule for the territory shows a slight increase in the number of flights over the 2023 summer schedule.

The schedule of the extra flights can be found on (www.hawaiianairlines.com).
