Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is recognizing National Military Appreciation Month, and released the following statement:

“This Military Appreciation Month and in honor of Armed Forces Day (May 16), we send out our deep appreciation to all who serve.

“In American Samoa, we are represented in every branch of our all-volunteer Armed Forces. Everyone in the islands has a right to be so proud of our friends and family serving our country. These include officers and enlisted, Reserves, and still others in the prestigious Service Academies.

“This month, we honor you and your service. Thank you for all you do to be ready to protect others and preserve freedom.

“We know you are missing many holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations at home. You are always in the prayers and thoughts of many in American Samoa, and may God bless you,” Uifa’atali concluded.
