Leone High School JROTC Team earns spot in National Leadership Bowl
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Following their remarkable performance in two rigorous phases of online competition, Leone High School JROTC Leadership Team, comprising Cadet Molesi Faaeteete, Cadet Suafo'a Lyzandra-Maria, Cadet Nansen Mary, Cadet Kaufusi Sosaia, Cadet Aifesili Joseph and Cadet Su'a Morgan, has secured a coveted position in the Championship event in Washington, DC. set to take place on the campus of the Catholic University of America June 15 - 19, 2025.
The 2025 U.S. Army JROTC Leadership Bowl Championship is proudly sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and organized by the esteemed College Options Foundation. Outshining 1,441 Army JROTC leadership teams from around the globe, Leone High School JROTC team emerged as one of only 40 teams nationwide to progress to the final competition, entailing an all-expenses-paid journey to the Championship event in DC.
Throughout the adrenaline-fueled preliminary rounds, cadets underwent rigorous assessments covering a spectrum of topics, including current events, leadership values, skills, and financial literacy. Notably, financial literacy videos, generously sponsored by the USAA Educational Foundation, were integrated into Levels I and II of the online competition, enriching the cadets' knowledge base.
The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl stands as a beacon of national recognition, tailored exclusively for JROTC students. By actively engaging in this competition, cadets imbibe essential values of citizenship, embrace academic competition, and unlock avenues for higher education.
