Saipan, CNMI — The Northern Marianas customs authority has seized 4.5 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine (meth) smuggled in glitter lava lamps.

The Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Division of Customs and Biosecurity estimated the street value of the illegal drug was US$1.8 million. meth sells for US$400 a gram on Saipan.

Customs said two Chinese nationals had been arrested in relation to the seizure and were being held at the Department of Corrections.
