Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The American Samoa Tennis Association (ASTA) is proud to announce that junior tennis player Kalianna Joseph has been selected to represent Pacific Oceania on the 12U Girls Team at the 2026 Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Intercontinental Event, taking place October 10 – 18th in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. 

This year marks the third consecutive year that Pacific Oceania will field boys and girls teams at the prestigious event. The tournament brings together some of the best young players from across the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, including representatives from Africa, Europe, and South America. 

Kalianna’s selection follows her performance at the Pacific Oceania Junior Championships (POJC) in Fiji in April, which served as the basis for selection to the Pacific Oceania representative teams. 

ASTA President Florence Wasko stated, “We are thrilled that Kali has been selected to represent Pacific Oceania and American Samoa in Kazakhstan. Competing against talented players from around the world will give her invaluable experience and help further her development. We are extremely proud of her and look forward to supporting her on this journey,” said Wasko. 

Her selection continues a strong period for American Samoa’s junior tennis program, with local athletes increasingly earning opportunities to represent both the Territory and Pacific Oceania at regional and international competitions.
