Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Through a Nov. 24th memorandum, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga expanded the members of the government Compliance Review Committee, with the appointment of three new members: American Rescue Plan Act Oversight Office director Keith Gebauer; Office of Property Management director Poleen Natia Asalele; and Silia Time of the Governor’s Office Special Programs.

According to the governor, the committee membership is based on the current positions they hold and if a member is unable to attend, they must designate a representative to act on their behalf.

Lemanu also said that all department directors, office and agency heads are required to cooperate with the committee “to maintain transparency and integrity of the government.”

The three new appointments bring total membership of this committee to 20 members, a majority of them cabinet members.

Among the duties and responsibilities of the committee — as amended through previous memos by the governor — is to review all expenses related to COVID-19 funds allocated to American Samoa, review employment actions and contact from Jan. 1, 2019 until a date to be determined and review all actions on leases that the government has entered into or amended over the same time period.
